Norman was born in 1887 to Joseph and Mary Lloyd of Monton Green, Manchester. As a 21 year old apprentice living in Higher Broughton he enrolled on an Electrical Engineering (City and Guilds) course in 1908-09.
He died at Gallipoli on 27th May 1915 and left £536 15s to his father, who was listed in probate records as a tea merchant.
